Donna Morea was elected to SunTrust Bank Inc.’s Board of Directors in April after retiring as President of CGI Technology and Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of CGI Group, Inc. at the end of 2011.

SunTrust’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer William H. Rogers, Jr. made the announcement at the annual SunTrust shareholders meeting.

“We look forward to benefiting from the extensive technology industry experience and valuable perspectives she brings to our organization,” said Rogers.

Morea served as the President of CGI U.S. Operations and was with the company for 31 years. She continues to serve on the Board of Directors for CGI Group.

SunTrust’s shareholders re-elected the company’s remaining 13 directors.  Two directors, J. Hicks Lanier and Dr. Frank S. Royal, retired from the Board after the meeting.

Rogers praised the retirees an extended his gratitude for their service.

“Their perceptive insights and judgment have always been appreciated,” Rogers said in a statement.

SunTrust has total assets of $178.2 billion and is one of the nation’s largest banking organizations.
