The RTCA Global Aviation Symposium will be held in Arlington, Virginia, June 13-14, bringing together experts from across industry and state and federal governments to talk about Next Generation priorities like cybersecurity and the environment, legislation affecting the Federal Aviation Commission and interagency cooperation.
Jeff Snyder, Raytheon vice president of cyber programs and co-chair of WashingtonExec’s Cybersecurity Council, will speak about the growing cybersecurity threat to aviation as part of a panel.
Joining him are Joe DePete, first VP of the Air Line Pilots Association; Jens Henning, VP of operations at the General Aviation Manufacturers Association; Honeywell Aerospace Cybersecurity fellow Daniel Johnson; and Steven Hoffman, the Defense Department’s senior technology adviser to NextGen, FAA’s comprehensive overhaul of the National Air System.
The panel, which will be moderated by Harris Corp. Vice President and General Manager of Missions Networks Kelle Wendling, will cover threats and remediation strategies, as well as potential policy and funding pathways.
RTCA, originally founded in 1935, acts as an advisory committee to FAA. It includes more than 600 active member organizations, and serves as a venue for the public-private collaboration at the core of national aerospace safety and efficiency.
