Recently, iGT announced that it signed a manufacturing agreement with SelectTech GeoSpatial to design and manufacture two different variants of airborne-certified enclosures.

The iDirect e850mp-series satellite router airborne enclosures will include a standard 19-inch rack-mount unit and an ARINC 600 interface-based 4MCU unit that will include a processor which will enable antenna control for any make and model of airborne antenna. The rack-mount unit will fit a standard 19-inch rack or can be integrated into a transit case solution. Both variants will be designed and manufactured to the strict government certification requirements for airborne electronic systems. SelectTech will design and manufacture both aircraft variants at its Advanced Manufacturing Facility.

iGT’s VP of Technology Karl Fuchs said, “The e850mp router will provide a much-needed performance increase in Ku-band, Ka-band and X-band communications throughout the military aircraft fleet to meet the growing demand for airborne communications. As the demand for high bandwidth airborne communications continues to increase, it is imperative that we have a partner who has a proven track record in designing airborne-certified equipment. We have found that partner with SelectTech.”

SelectTech’s President Scott Sullivan said, “Our end-to-end capability with full-scale manufacturing will support the high-quality standards of iGT in the design and manufacture of airborne-certified enclosures.”
