David Broadbent’s most recent achievement was leading the successful integration of SES and Intelsat’s government and defense businesses following the close of the $3.1 billion merger. The integration has already resulted in contract wins with the U.S. Army, the Defense Department and the U.S. Space Force.
By ensuring SES was ready from day one to deliver integrated, multi-orbit, mission-critical satellite-powered communications, the company strengthened and expanded key government and defense customer relationships, positioning SES as a leading space-based solutions provider in these markets. SES currently manages over $1 billion in government contracts.
The Intelsat acquisition has also delivered early synergistic cost savings that will benefit government and defense users. By combining the expertise, resources and financial strength of two global satellite operators, SES is accelerating the development and commercialization of multi-orbit connectivity solutions designed specifically for government and defense missions, with greater efficiency and speed.
