General Dynamics Information Technology has announced its Vision, Innovation and Acceleration strategy to accelerate technology innovation and deliver advanced solutions for critical government missions.

VIA builds on the company’s 2023 technology investment strategy, which generated $18.3 billion in new business and recompete contract awards and established GDIT’s position in AI, cyber and integrated mission technology solutions.

“Mission success in today’s dynamic geopolitical and technological environment demands agility, speed and innovation,” said Amy Gilliland, GDIT president. “VIA reinforces our long-standing commitment to invest in proven mission solutions to meet the government’s most pressing challenges now and in the future.”

The strategy increases GDIT’s investment in technology capabilities, R&D labs and workforce development, and is organized around five pillars:

Strategic market segments: GDIT is investing in solutions across three areas: battlespace of the future, border security and smart government modernization.

Technology solutions: Building on its Digital Accelerator portfolio in AI, cloud, cyber, 5G, digital engineering and quantum, GDIT is developing Mission Solutions for the tactical edge and government operations.

Commercial partnerships: GDIT is expanding partnerships with AWS, Google Public Sector, ServiceNow, GitLab and IonQ, with over 60 proofs of concept in development and 40 new emerging technology companies added to its portfolio.

Business execution: The company is forming a new enterprise business office and expanding its AI, cyber and mission software Centers of Excellence.

Workforce development: Since 2023, 12,000 GDIT employees have moved internally to new roles and over 9,000 received technical certifications. Last year, the company upskilled more than 5,000 employees in AI.
