In December and under Steve Schorer’s leadership, Peraton capped the year on a very high note when it secured the Federal Aviation Administration’s historic, multibillion-dollar brand-new air traffic control system contract.
“The most ambitious technology overhaul and modernization effort in federal government history,” as Schorer put it.
The system will integrate advanced automation, AI and secure communications into operational systems that govern and manage national airspace.
“This effort brought together the best of Peraton, and resulted in a compelling solution that enhances safety, improves efficiency, and modernizes a critical national infrastructure that millions of passengers, pilots, controllers, and engineers rely on every single day,” Schorer said.

Fun fact: Schorer appeared for 10 seconds in a scene in the original movie “JAWS.” That moment sparked a lifelong interest in hunting and fishing, especially deep-sea fishing. He is also a devoted sports fan. A New England native, he roots for the Red Sox and Patriots. After spending much of his early career working and raising his family on the West Coast, he also roots for the Lakers.
