GRVTY has named Peter “Pete” Ranks as chief strategy officer, bringing on a 27-year CIA veteran who rose from network engineer to the agency’s first assistant director for cyber intelligence.
In his new role, Ranks will lead the company’s strategic planning, key initiatives and expansion into new mission areas.
“Pete is an exceptional addition to the GRVTY executive leadership team,” said Katie Selbe, GRVTY CEO “Through his service to the nation both at the Central Intelligence Agency and the Department of War, he has earned a perspective few possess. GRVTY has been growing intentionally, and Pete’s ability to anticipate and act on the nexus of strategic context, technology, and mission is second to none.”
In earlier roles, Ranks supported counterproliferation and counterterrorism missions and led the intelligence community’s first cloud computing partnership with industry. He also served as a deputy chief information officer at the Defense Department, where he led the Cloud Computing Program Office and software modernization efforts under the department’s chief information officer.
“What drew me to GRVTY is the vision and ambition of the company,” Ranks said. “We’re at a pivotal moment in our nation’s security, and GRVTY’s focus on embracing and developing the latest defense technologies, delivering field-ready mission solutions, and doing what’s in the warfighter’s best interest, all at speed and scale, is what fundamentally sets this company apart from all the rest. I am thrilled to join the team.”
