Gil Dussek
CEO, Gunnison
Gil Dussek’s biggest recent achievement was working alongside his team to deliver transformational contract awards that create new opportunities for employees while bringing best-in-class Gunnison capabilities to customers and their missions.
“It’s not our job as leaders to appeal to the lowest common denominator,” Dussek said. “It’s our job to raise it.”
A key element of this momentum has been a strategic partnership that fuses Gunnison’s cybersecurity and AI capabilities, enabling faster, more resilient mission delivery. These wins both deepen existing customer relationships and expand the company’s footprint with new agencies.
“Gil’s leadership has positioned Gunnison for long-term success by combining disciplined execution with a clear strategic vision,” said Renny DiPentima, director of Gunnison’s board of directors. “His focus on customer trust, operational excellence and building strong teams has been a driving force behind the company’s growth and resilience.”
Why Watch
In 2026, Gunnison’s focus is on delivering capability to mission faster by reducing friction in both acquisition and execution. His team is leveraging automation and AI to create additional capacity for themselves and their customers, allowing everyone to focus on higher-value activities that directly support mission outcomes. The goals are speed, clarity and measurable impact.
Gunnison aligns with the current administration’s goals to reduce costs, streamline operations and improve government efficiency through automation, AI and security-by-design. The company’s size allows it to move quickly, challenge traditional approaches and deliver mission capability without being constrained by legacy thinking, Dussek said. Backed by over 30 years of on-time delivery, his teams balance speed with discipline, using “good enough” to accelerate outcomes without sacrificing excellence.
Fun fact: Dussek is a big tennis fan and has made it to all four Grand Slam tournaments. As a Jersey native, the U.S. Open has always been a must-attend for him every year. Now that he has lived in the DMV longer than he lived in New Jersey, he’s added the DC Open to that annual tradition.
