Thiyagu Ramasamy
Head of Public Sector, Anthropic
Thiyagu Ramasamy’s biggest recent achievement was building a high-performing, mission-focused team that brought Claude to the U.S. government.
In under a year, Claude has been extended to 10,000 scientists at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, supported a $200 million Defense Department agreement to prototype frontier AI for national security missions, and reached all three branches of government through a partnership with GSA OneGov. Anthropic also introduced Claude Gov models built for classified environments and partnered with the state of Maryland to deploy AI tools that help connect 6 million residents with essential benefits.
Ramasamy said the U.S. public sector should have access to the most advanced AI capabilities to meet complex mission needs, from scientific research to constituent services. By pairing accessibility with strict security standards, Anthropic aims to ensure AI serves the public interest.
The company is working directly with government organizations to accelerate adoption, including through the GSA OneGov partnership that extended Claude across all branches of government for $1. Anthropic also participated in White House efforts such as the CMS Health Tech Ecosystem pledge and the AI Education Taskforce.
Why Watch
In 2026, Ramasamy’s team will continue working closely with agencies to help them harness AI’s potential in support of critical missions. The focus is on understanding agency challenges, deploying Claude in secure environments that meet federal compliance requirements and helping teams integrate AI into daily operations. Anthropic’s public sector mission is to help government organizations adopt safe, trustworthy AI at speed.
“We’re committed to meeting government customers where they operate, delivering frontier AI across every network and compliance environment, from unclassified to classified,” he said.
