    Alex Alveario, Buchanan & Edwards

    Alessandro “Alex” Alveario

Account Manager, National Security Accounts, Buchanan & Edwards

Over the past few years, Alex Alveario has led BE’s most strategic, mission-critical bids supporting national security and U.S. diplomatic operations. Most recently, he drove the company’s pursuit of the multibillion-dollar State Department Evolve IDIQ, securing a prime position on the full and open award.

He also led the Marine Corps’ MCRISS program through a complex transition from a traditional Federal Acquisition Regulation contract to a 5-year Other Transaction Authority and spearheaded BE’s winning bid for the State Department’s CFSS blanket purchase agreement. That effort secured a $70 million single-award vehicle supporting systems national security partners rely on daily.

Alveario is also advancing BE’s Innovation Hub, or iHub, applying AI to reduce cost, streamline operations and improve mission efficiency across government. One example is BEAST, BE’s AI-powered testing accelerator, selected by the Navy Program Executive Office for Manpower, Logistics and Business Solutions as a finalist in its Artificial Intelligence Augmented Testing Challenge.

BEAST automates test generation, execution and updates to reduce manual effort and speed delivery. By directing iHub resources toward real operational challenges and high-impact opportunities, BE enables national security partners to move faster with greater reliability at lower cost.

“Alex’s drive to bring AI and digital capabilities into national security work is exactly the kind of forward-looking approach that elevates our entire team,” said Sean Crowley, BE’s director of Technology Sector Services. “He has played a major role in positioning BE for success on some of the most competitive and mission-critical opportunities in the federal space and his leadership on bids like the Evolve IDIQ and CFSS reflect his deep understanding of our customers and what their missions demand.”

    Why Watch

In 2026, Alveario is focused on expanding and strengthening BE’s core national security accounts across the State Department, Navy, Marine Corps, Justice Department and FBI. He is advancing AI, data and digital service capabilities that deliver faster, smarter and more resilient mission support. Alveario is also leading the build-out of BE’s State Department EVOLVE pipeline and driving targeted task order captures to support sustained mission impact.

“My time as a Navy Submarine Officer taught me the importance of precision, adaptability, and teamwork, all values that I carry into every project I lead,” Alveario said. “I approach each challenge with the same mission-first mindset, and I’m excited to continue charting new courses for our national security clients by bringing AI, data, and digital solutions to help them operate smarter and more efficiently.”

Fun fact: Before moving into national security strategy, Alveario served as a Navy submarine officer, deploying across the Mediterranean, Atlantic, Arctic and Pacific. Earlier in his career, he was also a DJ in the National Capital Region, spinning house, electronic and international music at leading nightclubs. He’s nearly fluent in Italian, and his family travels there often to stay connected with relatives and explore new regions.
