Amanda Cody
CISO, Booz Allen
As Booz Allen brings advanced technology solutions to accelerate results for federal and commercial customers, CISO Amanda Cody leads its efforts to keep this technology secure and resilient.
With an eye to supporting the business through a discreet focus around tech enablement, her team leans in on AI-enabled operations, coupled with purposeful governance and priority tooling for secure code development.
“Our team is guided by a three-pronged approach; we’re threat-informed, data-driven and risk based,” Cody said. “While this sounds very straightforward, implementing at scale with an evolving threat landscape, shifting priorities, and the sheer volume of data, the execution is anything but straightforward. But the team is up to the task.”
Cody and team put their talents to work supporting Booz Allen’s internal infrastructure under the company’s VoLT (Velocity, Leadership, Technology) strategy. AI is a top security focus and reflects Booz Allen’s position as a leading provider of AI and cyber services to the federal government.
“We’re constantly asking questions like, ‘How can our adversaries use AI technologies against us? How can we leverage them in our defense? What governance structures should we have to support these efforts?’” Cody said. “Then we use what we learn to accelerate purposeful investments and innovative solutions.”
Why Watch
Look for Cody’s threat-informed, data-driven, and risk-based program to reach new heights in the months ahead.
“In the external environment, we’re dealing with an array of challenges, such as expanding and heavily targeted supply chains that require protection and exponential growth in data we analyze for threat preparation,” Cody said. “Meanwhile, within our security stack and with our clients, we need to be able to fully operationalize and institutionalize solutions and make them stick.”
Booz Allen Chief Administrative Officer Jen Wagner said Cody brings people, process and technology together for “real-world results.”
“A problem solver, she helps our business stay cyber-aware and secure in an ever-evolving threat environment,” Wagner said.
