Optiv + ClearShark has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Level 2, validating its ability to protect sensitive government data and meet the Defense Department’s top security standards for contractors.
The program requires defense contractors to meet rigorous cybersecurity controls under NIST SP 800-171 to safeguard controlled unclassified information. Level 2 certification ensures compliance with upcoming federal mandates and keeps Optiv + ClearShark eligible for defense contracts.
“We believe nothing should stand in the way of making our government more secure,” said Daniel Wilbricht, president of Optiv + ClearShark. “Achieving CMMC 2.0 certification is more than a compliance milestone — it’s a demonstration of our deep commitment to protecting national security and helping agencies overcome their most complex cybersecurity challenges.”
With the certification, Optiv + ClearShark said it gives partners a trusted, compliant supply chain link for doing business with the federal government. The company said the achievement positions partners ahead as CMMC requirements move toward contractual enforcement with penalties for noncompliance.
“Earning CMMC 2.0 certification is an achievement that reflects the discipline and rigor our teams bring to every engagement,” said Michael Saintcross, senior vice president of revenue at Optiv + ClearShark. “As a trusted partner and supplier among the few CMMC 2.0 technology providers, this certification ensures we can deliver secure, compliant and mission-ready solutions that empower our federal customers to move forward with confidence.”
