Roger had flair only eclipsed by his immense grace and kindness. Please keep Roger and his family in your prayers. He will be greatly missed,” Leonsis wrote.
Mody was also an associate publisher of Inc. Magazine and the former chairman and CEO of SIGNAL Corp., before selling the business to The Veridian Corp., for $227 million in 2002. He founded and chaired The Mody Foundation, which provides higher education, health-based and athletics funding for economically disadvantaged inner-city children. He became a partner at Monumental Sports in 2011.
According to Mody’s bio, The Mody Foundation is actively involved in the Washington, D.C.-area philanthropic community, participating with the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, The Orphan Network, National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Easter Seals.
Mody was also a charter member of the Redskins Leadership Council and a member of the MSE Foundation board of directors.
