Nightwing Vice President of Contracts & Supply Chain Amy Foy led her team through the company’s separation from a legacy business, establishing an indirect and strategic sourcing organization and deploying a secure, automated supply chain system. Her integrity and relationship-driven leadership built a culture of collaboration and accountability that drives Nightwing’s mission and operational excellence.
“Amy leads with integrity, purpose, and an unwavering focus on building strong relationships—within her team, across the company, and with our customers and suppliers,” said Sarah Lynn, Nightwing general counsel. “She has shaped a culture where collaboration and accountability go hand in hand, and that culture has become a competitive advantage for Nightwing. Her impact is felt at every level of the business.”
In this Q&A, Foy shares her approach to leadership, how she guided her team through a high-stakes divestiture, and what’s next for Nightwing.
What was your biggest recent achievement?
Leading the Nightwing Contracts and Supply Chain (C&SC) teams through the successful separation and divestiture from a legacy business, from both a customer and supplier perspective. Through proactive planning and commitment, the C&SC team was able to accomplish an incredible amount in a short period of time, all while ensuring we remained focused on our customer and the mission and supported our employees through a major transition and transformation.
Key achievements include:
- The successful novation of contracts with our four major customers in less than four months
- Establishing an indirect and strategic sourcing organization including all agreements that was able to maintain Nightwing’s competitive advantage for our customers and establish a standalone infrastructure (systems, benefits, strategic agreements, operations) for the business.
- Deploying Nightwing’s Secure Supply Chain capability that established an efficient and automated system for managing supplier due diligence, risk, onboarding and improving supplier relations and business operations
What will you and your team focus on in 2025 and beyond?
In 2025, my team has been focused on successfully standing up our new systems, policies, and processes to support our business, while exiting from our transition services agreements with the legacy business and operating as a completely standalone company. The first half of the year has been focused on streamlining our processes and policies, finalizing our system requirements, and preparing our employees and vendors in support of our new ERP system that was deployed in record time.
Now that the system is deployed, we are focused on further system enhancements and opportunities to meet our business and customer needs as well as preparing for our first Purchasing System review with DCMA this fall.
How is your company aligning with the current administration’s priorities to reduce cost, streamline operations and improve government efficiency?
As a services business where time and cost matter, Nightwing is in lockstep with current administration priorities. Nightwing’s transformation over the last year from a people, process and tools perspective has been fully aligned with the current administration’s focus on efficiency and improving operations, while still providing our capabilities quickly and compliantly to support the mission.
How do you define success and your leadership philosophy?
For me success is about my team –seeing my team grow and advance and drive our organization. I am very fortunate to work with an incredible team and extremely proud how they have been able to balance the dynamics of the current environment and the demands of a divestiture, all while being able to continue to provide excellent support and services to our customers and suppliers, transforming our company and standing up a brand-new business.
