Supply Chain Execs You Should Know: Chris Frye Drives Navy Readiness at ASRC Federal

    Chris Frye, ASRC Federal

Chris Frye leads ASRC Federal’s Supply Chain Management and Logistics Operating Group, where he focuses on building resilient, efficient supply chains in support of national security. Under his leadership, the company was recently selected by the Defense Logistics Agency to compete for task orders on its $6 billion Maritime Acquisition Advancement Contract, strengthening the Navy’s VA-class nuclear submarine manufacturing program.

In this Q&A, Frye shares how his team drives demand forecasting, inventory management and supplier collaboration to boost Navy readiness, expand the industrial base and align with the Defense Department’s efficiency goals. He also discusses integrating AI into ASRC Federal’s proven process and mentoring small manufacturers to build long-term supply chain resilience.

What was your biggest recent achievement?

Frye’s team was recently selected by the Defense Logistics Agency as one of six companies to compete for task orders on its $6 billion Maritime Acquisition Advancement Contract. Frye noted that this work will strengthen supply chain capacity to bolster the Navy’s VA-class nuclear submarine manufacturing, which is a national security priority. The program will improve Navy readiness by bringing in new manufacturers and suppliers to the Navy’s organic industrial base.

ASRC Federal brings extensive experience in requirement forecasting, inventory management and optimizing production lead times.

Frye leads customer engagement and prioritizes the relationships with the company’s partners such as manufacturers and value-added resellers.

“When it comes to optimizing supply chains, no one does it in a vacuum, we work together to support national security missions,” he said.

What are you focused on in 2025 and beyond?

ASRC Federal’s goal is to continue to be a reliable partner, providing expertise and optimizing supply chains to enhance readiness and resilience. The team has a proven track record in working with manufacturers and qualified suppliers to help with demand planning and cutting through the red tape of working with the government in a transparent and trusted way. Adding AI to their proven process will further enhance the team’s ability to have the right material at the right time.

“ASRC Federal is a trusted DoD partner in supply chain optimization,” Frye said. “We are proud to help build a reliable industrial base that includes qualified small manufacturers. We also have a proven record of cost efficiency driven by sophisticated forecasting, inventory management and expedient delivery.”

How is your company aligning with the current administration’s priorities to reduce cost, streamline operations and improve government efficiency?

ASRC Federal ensures supply chain efficiency through its experience tracking demand histories, forecasting requirements and bringing together multiple manufacturers and commodity suites to maximize efficiency. The company actively supports the DoD’s goal to expand the industrial base — and given ASRC Federal’s status and experience as a supplier, the company is participating as a mentor to bring other small businesses along.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

Chris comes from a long line of veterans to include his grandfather, who was one of 5 brothers that volunteered and deployed during World War II.
