President Donald Trump has appointed Mike Rigas as acting administrator of the General Services Administration, replacing Stephen Ehikian, who had been serving in an acting capacity.
Rigas joined from the State Department, where he was deputy secretary of state for management and resources. He previously served as a senior advisor to the Trump-Vance 2025 transition and directed the America First Policy Institute’s Presidential Transition Project.
During the first Trump administration, Rigas held several leadership roles, including acting director of the Office of Personnel Management, acting deputy director for management at the Office of Management and Budget, acting federal chief information officer, and senior advisor at GSA.
As the federal government’s chief management officer, he chaired the President’s Management Council and oversaw performance in financial, procurement, IT and personnel operations. At OPM, he led human resources policy for more than 2.2 million federal employees.
Before entering government, Rigas worked in the private sector at Mellon Financial Corporation and Brown Brothers Harriman & Co.
