They’ve introduced earlier, more strategic engagement with executive leadership during proposals, giving decision-makers the context to act quickly on risk and margin. This shift improved trust, reduced last-minute scrambles and allowed the team to focus on smart execution, not just submissions, Schoenauer said.

Fun fact: From 2008 until the pandemic, Schoenauer worked as a group fitness instructor, an experience that transformed her from naturally shy to a confident leader. Teaching classes built the presence she now brings to her role at Astrion. She calls it her version of Toastmasters, and it continues to influence her leadership style today.
