Kim Schoenauer
Vice President, Pricing, Astrion
Shortly after joining Astrion, Kim Schoenauer worked on a major proposal that showcased a win-win approach benefiting both the customer and the company.
By optimizing best practices, her team developed smarter, more strategic pricing options. This success set the tone for Schoenauer’s vision: making decisions that balance customer needs with business growth.
“Kim is an innovative thinker who excels at balancing the technical aspects of pricing with true cultural awareness, which amplifies our team and contributes to the company’s growth,” said Steve Hamric, Astrion chief financial officer. “I look forward to her continued leadership as we continue to build a pricing strategy that keeps us competitive while delivering results with impact for our customers.”
Why Watch
Schoenauer joined Astrion to lead a talented, motivated team now focused on implementing process-driven efficiencies that bring consistency to pricing. They’ve introduced earlier, more strategic engagement with executive leadership during proposals, giving decision-makers the context to act quickly on risk and margin. This shift improved trust, reduced last-minute scrambles and allowed the team to focus on smart execution, not just submissions, Schoenauer said.
At Astrion, teams are building repeatable processes to work more efficiently and pass savings on to government customers. Schoenauer said their experienced team, flexible structure and advanced technical tools enable fast, precise execution. In a competitive market, that efficiency makes a real difference, she said.
“If you want to win once, you set a goal, but if you want to win consistently, you build a system,” she said. “My focus has been on creating the repeatable processes and team alignment that let us execute with precision, price strategically, and deliver real value to our government customers.”
Fun fact: From 2008 until the pandemic, Schoenauer worked as a group fitness instructor, an experience that transformed her from naturally shy to a confident leader. Teaching classes built the presence she now brings to her role at Astrion. She calls it her version of Toastmasters, and it continues to influence her leadership style today.
