Jose Hidalgo
CEO/President, Frontier Technology Inc
Jose Hidalgo’s biggest recent achievement was completing FTI’s end-to-end digital data analytics ecosystem after years of work transforming the company’s business model. He said he’s especially proud of the strong interest and active discussions underway with the Space Force, Air Force and Navy around FTI’s advanced modeling and simulation, data analytics and defensive cyber solutions.
FTI’s value proposition centers on driving efficiency, effectiveness and affordability for Defense Department customers — aligned with the current administration’s focus on cost savings, streamlined operations and greater agility. The company’s digital platform is powered by a portfolio of component technologies that enable rapid deployment — within weeks instead of years — and deliver scalable, non-disruptive solutions.
FTI can achieve this speed and flexibility because its ecosystem is backed by more than $350 million in combined federal and internal R&D investment. The solutions are tailored to specific mission needs, making them faster to implement, quicker to add value and significantly more affordable than monolithic alternatives. They’re also built to adapt to the rapidly evolving challenges the Defense Department faces today.
“As CEO, Jose Hidalgo has inspired the FTI team and our customers,” said Ron Shroder, chairman of the board at FTI. “He has shaped the evolution of FTI’s portfolio in line with our customers’ needs for advanced analytics, modeling and cyber technologies into a powerful digital ecosystem with next generation capabilities for the DoD’s wargaming, logistics, training and cyber security missions. The passion from our customer base and employees for these advancements in FTI’s new digital ecosystem is very promising.”
Why Watch
In 2025, Hidalgo’s team is focused on helping DOD adopt powerful new capabilities to strengthen warfighter readiness across multi-domain wargaming, live-virtual-constructive training, mission threat analysis and courses of action, strategic and tactical planning, and defensive cyber — leveraging FTI’s digital platform, technologies and solutions like FTI Cortex, WOPR, ISWAT, Nevi and others.
“I pray for peace and for the well-being of everyone,” he said. “But as we are witnessing, it can be a dangerous world, and one of our top priorities is the safety of our country’s defenders and warfighters when they’re forced into harm’s way.”
Fun Fact: Many see Hidalgo as outgoing at work, but in his personal life, he describes himself as much more reserved — “bordering boring level!”
