General Dynamics Information Technology has been awarded a $143 million electronic warfare contract by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division.
The single-award task order, awarded in January by the Joint Electronic Attack Compatibility Office, includes a 1-year base period and four 1-year option periods.
EW allows warfighters to disrupt or manipulate adversaries’ communications and weapons systems. Under the contract, GDIT will support engineering, logistics, intelligence analysis and demonstration of technologies such as low-cost, agile electronic warfare jammers that can be deployed on airborne platforms including aircraft, helicopters and drones.
“As electronic warfare continues to evolve at a rapid pace, staying one step ahead of our adversaries is vital to protecting our national security,” said Brian Sheridan, senior vice president of GDIT’s defense division. “We look forward to continuing our 15-year partnership with NAWCWD and reimagining new and cost-effective ways to provide our warfighters with a mission-critical advantage on the battlefield.”
