Core4ce’s board of managers has appointed Rick Hubbard as a chief scientist, the company’s highest-ranking technical role. Chief scientists guide enterprisewide technical direction, shape innovation strategy and advance the company’s communities of practice.
In his new role, Hubbard will help define Core4ce’s technology priorities, identify strategic investments and ensure the company remains a leader in emerging technical domains. He will also represent Core4ce in national technical forums, expand its learning ecosystem and work across business units to scale high-impact ideas
Hubbard was selected for his deep expertise and contributions across the enterprise, particularly as lead of the Autonomy, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Lab within the Advanced Mission Solutions business unit. Under his leadership, the lab has become a center for applied innovation, high-impact research and mission-ready AI and machine learning capabilities.
Headquartered near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, the AAIM Lab is led by a cross-functional team of engineers and Ph.D.-level scientists focused on advancing cutting-edge technologies. The lab develops next-generation metalenses, conducts hypersonics research and delivers AI- and machine learning-enabled services on accelerated timelines.
“Rick is a natural fit for this appointment—not only because of his technical leadership, but because of his ability to build trust, drive action, and inspire the next generation of talent at Core4ce,” said Core4ce Managing Partner and Chief Technology Officer Todd Harbour.
Hubbard is a Top AI Exec to Watch in 2025 and a finalist for the Chief Officer Awards in the category of AI Executive of the Year.
With this appointment, Hubbard joins Curtis Arnold, Jackie Lawrence and Mark Poe as part of Core4ce’s distinguished cohort of chief scientists.
