    CTO, HII Mission Technologies

    John Bell is responsible for technical excellence and innovation across growth, product and service delivery, and internal research and development.

    His career spans decades in advanced technology solutions supporting modeling and simulation, networking, information systems, communications and cybersecurity.

    He started as a software engineer at NASA and later at the Defense Department, developing modeling and simulation software for DARPA’s Synthetic Theater of War, which laid the foundation for his work on the Navy Continuous Training Environment’s live, virtual and constructive technologies.

    “John has had an impressive career in technology and defense innovation,” said Andy Green, president of HII Mission Technologies. “His leadership and contributions to the modeling and simulation community for military training and operations are remarkable. This same dedication will continue to advance technologies critical to national security.”

    His years of supporting the Navy and Air Force position him as a key innovator in defense technology, helping HII deliver integrated solutions for the connected, all-domain force.

    Under his leadership, HII applies cutting-edge technologies to mission readiness, including C5ISR, digital engineering, AI and machine learning, cyber and electronic warfare, uncrewed autonomous systems, advanced weapons modeling and simulation, and critical nuclear operations.
