Serco Inc. has promoted national security and government affairs expert Kim Joiner to vice president of government relations, tapping into her decades of experience across Capitol Hill, the Defense Department and the federal contracting space.

In this new role, Joiner will lead Serco’s legislative strategy, strengthen relationships with elected officials and federal agencies and oversee the company’s political action committee. Her focus is to help Serco stay ahead of defense policy shifts and drive smart, strategic engagement in Washington.

“Kim’s wealth of experience will be an incredible benefit to Serco,” said Tom Watson, CEO of Serco Inc. “Her efforts to enhance our presence on Capitol Hill and within various Departments and Agencies make her a powerful champion for Serco both inside and outside the Beltway. Kim’s work will further connect the impact of our capabilities and solutions with citizens in the communities we serve.”

Joiner steps into the role after serving as senior advisor to Serco’s chief technology officer, where she helped align company strategy with mission outcomes in defense and federal civilian markets.

“I am eager to take up the mantle of advancing Serco’s mission on the Hill and build on the foundation of our high-level relationships with our federal partners,” she said.
