Acentra Health has appointed Dr. Sunil Budhrani to its Healthcare Advisory Board to help guide the company’s public and private sector strategy with his expertise in clinical innovation, digital health and health care transformation.
Acentra Health CEO Todd Stottlemyer said the addition of Budhrani reflects the company’s focus on combining clinical insight and innovation to meet the evolving needs of public-sector health care.
“His cross-sector leadership insights and proven success in digital health will be invaluable in guiding our approach to delivering future-ready solutions that support more accessible, efficient, and affordable healthcare for our clients and the priority populations they serve,” Stottlemyer added.
Budhrani is chief innovation and medical officer at Capital Rx, where he leads clinical strategy, partnerships and the expansion of the JUDI platform to improve pharmacy benefit management.
A board-certified emergency medicine physician and faculty member at the George Washington University School of Medicine, Budhrani held executive roles across public and private health care organizations. He was CEO of Innovation Health, a joint venture between CVS/Aetna and Inova Health System.
He also founded CareClix Telemedicine, one of the first national end-to-end telemedicine platforms, and PrimeMed Urgent Care Systems, a regional urgent care network. He was the first chief medical officer of Maryland’s ACA health plan, Evergreen Health Care.
“Acentra Health is redefining how clinical expertise and technology converge to deliver real-world impact,” Budhrani said. “Joining the Healthcare Advisory Board is a chance to work alongside exceptional industry leaders to help shape strategies that are innovative and help meaningfully improve patient outcomes across the country.
