    Praveen Kurian, SAIC

    Praveen Kurian

Senior Vice President of Defense Space, SAIC

Since joining SAIC in 2023, Praveen Kurian led his team to impressive double-digit, transformational growth. Under his leadership, SAIC won major contracts in the Battle Management Command, Control and Communications AppFactory, Ground Based Radar Maintenance and Sustainment Services, and Digital Transformation, Acquisition, Modernization and Modification.

These programs are having a real impact on U.S. national security. The BMC3 AppFactory is delivering secure software applications to satellites on orbit – keeping them adaptable to ever-evolving missions like missile warning and tracking. GMASS is modernizing critical ground-based missile warning radars used to protect the homeland from attack, while DTAMM is modernizing the eastern and western launch ranges to maximize launch capacity for the U.S. Space Force.

    Why Watch

“Praveen is a growth-driven leader, executing on critical programs to shift the market toward mission integration supporting next-gen space capabilities,” said David Ray, SAIC executive vice president of the Space and Intelligence Business Group. “Praveen’s ability to motivate teams, build strong customer relationships, and drive real impact makes him a key force in SAIC’s shift from professional and engineering services to being an industry leader in mission integration.”

With the help of innovative digital engineering and solutions from Kurian and his SAIC team, the USSF is bringing next-generation mission capabilities online faster and integrated with the rest of the space enterprise to achieve decision dominance.

“The Space Force is focused on seamlessly integrating legacy systems with modern sensors and effects to create a resilient, data-driven architecture,” Kurian said. “By integrating past capabilities with commercial and emerging technologies, we enhance domain awareness, accelerate decision-making and optimize mission effectiveness in the contested space domain.”

Fun Fact: When this soccer-, basketball- and hockey-loving dad of four isn’t cheering on his kids from the sideline, Kurian, his wife Kristin and their kids can be found traveling and visiting America’s wonderful national parks.
