    David Ziegler, ASRC Federal

    David Ziegler

Senior Vice President & General Manager, National Security Space Program, ASRC Federal

David Ziegler leads a team across 16 national security space contracts with U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and National Reconnaissance Office customers. He closely partners with government leaders to ensure his team understands today’s mission as well as tomorrow’s.

With those missions in mind, Ziegler considers his most important job is to identify and remove obstacles slowing the progress and initiative of the division’s nearly 600 employees.

His team’s critical support to the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch out of Cape Canaveral will bring home two astronauts. This marks the 24th launch success in 2025 and 333rd consecutive success since the team assumed launch infrastructure operations responsibilities in 2018.

Elsewhere, his team was recognized by the Space Force for delivering urgent ground-based radar sustainment support. Ziegler’s team also recently partnered with the Space Development Agency and Naval Research Laboratory to deliver the Tranche 0 ground enterprise that autonomously operates 27 satellites on orbit.

    Why Watch

Ziegler’s team earns exceptional customer ratings, and in 2025, he plans to build upon their world-class space operations and maintenance capabilities with related offerings in sustainment engineering.

“There is tremendous opportunity to integrate our O&M mission prowess with other ASRC Federal capabilities,” he said. Agile DevSecOps, supply chain management and digital engineering are examples of the capabilities that promise to give ASRC Federal an edge in the space sustainment engineering market.

“We’re both proud and humbled to follow the lead of our space leaders in the great power competition that has freedom of space hanging in the balance,” Ziegler said. “We wake up to the privilege and responsibility of contributing to American security every single day.”

Fun fact: Ziegler is a four-time Air Force commander raised in the tradition of “Mission first, people always.” He views his work at ASRC Federal as a continuation of his service to his country, a value passed on to his son who currently serves in uniform with Air Force special operations.
