Henry Choi
Growth Leader, Warfare Systems, HII Mission Technologies
Henry Choi leads efforts to advance space initiatives in cyber, electronic warfare and modeling and simulation for the U.S. Space Force. His team is focused on applying air and ground EW and electromagnetic spectrum operations to the space domain, with the goal of enhancing the protection and survivability of space-deployed assets.
Choi emphasized the importance of incorporating electronic warfare design, development and hardware-in-the-loop testing capabilities into the process of making space systems more robust, defendable and upgradable.
“This approach is crucial as space becomes an increasingly contested domain,” he said. “HII Mission Technologies’ work in the space sector is diverse but aligns directly with the nation’s space strategy.”
Choi’s efforts are focused on reinforcing the resilience and readiness of U.S. space operations to help the U.S. Space Force maintain superiority in an increasingly complex and contested space domain.
Why Watch
Choi and his team are spearheading efforts to deliver cutting-edge technology solutions to counter evolving adversarial threats and driving innovation to bolster space-based operations to safeguard critical U.S. space assets.
HII Mission Technologies is creating a realistic and reliable hardware-in-the-loop test environment for space assets to ensure optimal performance and creating digital twins of space assets to enable accurate performance simulations, predictive analysis and system optimization without risking the actual assets. Through the use of technology products — VIPER for RF propagation modeling and HII’s RFarchitect mission planning tool — communication systems can maintain integrity and peak optimization, ensuring missions can successfully execute.
Choi’s team is also advancing capabilities by deploying HII’s RFsentry spectrum monitoring systems for EMS situational awareness to ensure seamless satellite network operations and mitigate interference challenges.
