    Elizabeth Moon, Google Public Sector

    Elizabeth Moon

Managing Director, Customer Engineering, Google Public Sector

Elizabeth Moon has a private sector background and is driven by the belief that public sector employees deserve the same cutting-edge technology and 10x thinking offered to commercial customers.

Through customers like the NIH, Google Public Sector is providing powerful cloud services, such as generative AI and high performance computing, directly to researchers, offering the most efficient path to breakthroughs in areas like chronic disease prevention, children’s health and healthcare in underserved communities.

Google Public Sector empowers Air Force researchers by providing them with the flexibility to instantly use powerful computing resources and Google AI technology to accelerate critical defense research. Customer stories are proof that Google Public Sector not only thinks big, but delivers to public servants to meet their government mission, Moon said.

“As Google embarks on our New Era of American Innovation, I cannot think of a better partner to have than Elizabeth,” said Brent Mitchell, Google Public Sector vice president of Go-to-Market.

“Her expertise is vital in bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and practical applications for our public sector partners. She empowers her team to deliver complex solutions that address the unique challenges faced by our public sector clients and our customer wins are testament to her leadership.”

    Why Watch

Google Public Sector has a simple mantra: Show, not tell. That’s why the Rapid Innovation Team partners directly with customers to quickly prototype impactful solutions. Recently, Moon and her team innovated with New York City to use Google AI technology and Pixel phones to help inspection workers predict and prevent maintenance issues, saving time and money while keeping the subway system running smoothly for millions of New York riders.

“This is an exciting time!” Moon said. “Generative AI is reshaping public service, reimagining every use case. We’re empowering those who serve, turning data into action, and building a more responsive future. And we’re just getting started.”

Fun fact: Moon is a recovering daredevil. Many years ago, she took a skydiving course, and over the course of a weekend, learned and executed her first solo jump. “As it turns out, one jump was all I needed!” she said.
