    Vy Truong, MetroStar

    Vy Truong

    Chief Innovation Officer, MetroStar

One of Vy Truong’s biggest recent achievements was helping MetroStar’s team launch Modern Intelligent Development AI System, or MIDAS, MetroStar’s AI-enabled solution for modernizing legacy code migration.

Developed in MetroStar’s Innovation Lab, MIDAS transforms outdated, mission-critical applications into modern, maintainable code. Leveraging cutting-edge Large Language Models and a human-in-the-loop approach reduces time and effort, improves code quality, minimizes errors, and ensures complete developer oversight and control.

Beyond MIDAS, Truong contributed to MetroStar’s innovation pipeline by being named in four recently awarded blockchain applications for drone patents that further advance the company’s AI-enabled solutions. Seeing his team’s hard work come to life has been incredibly rewarding.

    Why Watch

In 2025, Truong and his team are focused on advancing AI-driven modernization through MIDAS and R&D into Command and Control of drones via blockchain technologies. The MetroStar Innovation Lab is expanding its capabilities, deepening its investments in AI and driving advancements in open systems, responsible AI and human-centered technology. Truong’s goal is to continue to push the boundaries of what AI can achieve — delivering real-world, scalable innovations that empower the people and agencies MetroStar serves.

“AI innovation isn’t just about building the next big thing — it’s about empowering teams to solve the right problems in the smartest way possible,” Truong said.

Fun fact: When Truong isn’t working, he’s outdoors. He enjoys skiing, snowboarding with his family, fishing and competing in shooting sports. One of his most memorable adventures was hiking 23 miles of the Machu Picchu trail. He has trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu for nine years and holds a brown belt. Lately, he’s been studying “AI for Defense and Intelligence” by Dr. Patrick Biltgen to stay sharp on the latest tech trends in national security.
