    C.W. Etzler, ManTech

C.W. Etzler, senior vice president of pricing & price to win at ManTech, is the new co-chair of WashingtonExec’s Pricing Council for 2025.

As co-chair, Etzler will lead discussions on integrating and developing advanced tools to improve the estimating process and ways to support the profession as a whole. Below, he shares insights on his experience, his goals as co-chair and the importance of connecting industry leaders with government officials.

Based on your extensive experience, what are some of the focus areas/hot topics you want to discuss with the council this year?

I am interested in furthering the integration of automation and AI capabilities into estimating processes. Developing improved tools for industry-wide use will advance the profession.

How will your personal and career experience and expertise within the pricing community help lead the council in discussions on pricing-related topics?

I’m continually reminded that the landscape is ever-evolving. My 25 years on leadership teams, driving exponential growth and supporting missions within nearly every government agency, provides a valuable perspective for navigating the dynamic changes and challenges before us.

What does it mean for you to be co-chair of this council?

Being a part of this council, and especially co-chairing it, is deeply meaningful to me. I’m particularly passionate about increasing exposure to our profession for analysts and finding ways to support their daily work. Do you feel there is great value in connecting industry executives with government officials to discuss topics facing the pricing community? If so, why? I do. Strong connectivity between industry and government officials is crucial. There are many marketplace myths and misunderstandings. Candid dialogue leads to more efficient and effective mission support.

Do you have any unique plans yet for the council?

I would like to see the council engage universities to create targeted curriculum on federal contract pricing, specifically aimed at developing the next generation of pricing professionals.

What do you hope to accomplish as co-chair of this council, and what do you hope councilmembers get out of your leadership?

As co-chair, my primary goal is to foster a collaborative and impactful environment where we can drive meaningful progress on the development of talent, utilization of technology, and enhancement of compliance.
