General Dynamics Information Technology announced a new strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services to drive digital modernization and advance government missions.

GDIT and AWS will partner to develop cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud migration and modernization solutions that help advance digital transformation for defense, intelligence and civilian agencies, the company said.

Government agencies can use AWS’ cloud computing environment to support their missions, while GDIT will apply its research and development labs to collaborate with AWS on emerging technologies like quantum, edge computing, and high-performance computing.

As national security priorities shift, federal agencies need industry partners to strengthen their missions, said Ben Gianni, GDIT senior vice president and chief technology officer.

“GDIT and AWS share a common vision of how to harness advanced technologies to drive innovation, efficiency and mission impact,” He said. “This agreement marks a new, exciting phase in our ongoing partnership with AWS, and we look forward to delivering cost-effective and differentiated solutions to our customers.”

The companies will collaborate with customers to develop new use cases, proofs of concept and mission-driven solutions. Focus areas include strengthening defense cybersecurity, enhancing real-time intelligence and healthcare, reducing fraud and waste, and advancing high-performance computing research.

David Appel, vice president of U.S. federal at AWS, emphasized that GDIT’s collaboration with AWS will help modernize and improve efficiency for U.S. federal customers during a crucial period of government digital transformation. He noted the new agreement will provide federal agencies with AWS’ advanced cloud services, including generative AI solutions such as Amazon Bedrock, NOVA and Q, to support key national missions.

“Together, our companies continue to drive secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions in defense, intelligence, and citizen services that enhance American AI leadership at home and abroad,” he said.
