    Steven A. Coles

    President and GM, RegScale

Driving innovation to the mission is Steven Coles’s biggest achievement, made possible by streamlining authorization to operate and FedRAMP processes to reduce timelines to just three months while cutting costs by over 300%.

“These efforts have accelerated the delivery of critical technologies to support mission success,” he said. “One of our customers has recently achieved ATO in a day.”

Michael Norton, senior partner at recruiting firm MRC Group Inc., said Coles’ efforts are vital.

“Steven has consistently demonstrated an unparalleled ability to drive growth and foster innovation in highly competitive markets,” Norton said. “His leadership in the federal sector has not only transformed business outcomes but also set new standards for excellence across the industry.”

    Why Watch

In 2025, Coles and his team are heavily focused on advancing AI-driven compliance and security solutions to further enable digital transformation across the Defense Department, Intel, civilian and state and local markets. Their impact on bringing tech company innovation to the mission, ensuring that cutting-edge capabilities are delivered to support critical objectives, is huge. By expanding partnerships and their footprint across these sectors, the team aims to redefine government IT innovation.

“I am driven by the challenge of solving complex problems and empowering teams to achieve extraordinary results,” Coles said. “The public sector represents an incredible opportunity to innovate, collaborate and drive meaningful change. Together, we can shape the future of technology and government services.”

Fun fact: “My mom, God rest her soul, was the oldest of 10 kids, and I am the oldest of 34 grandkids on her side, with another 30-plus great-grandkids and counting,” Coles said. “To say the least, I am a family guy.”
