    John DeSimone, Nightwing

    John DeSimone

    CEO, Nightwing

In 2024, John DeSimone led Nightwing through a transformative period ⏤ its divestiture from a Fortune 100 company and launch as a new, agile organization. With the flexibility to forge its own path, Nightwing already sharpened its focus on innovation and emerging technologies, made some key executive hires and continued to deliver solutions that are important to customers and employees.

With over 2,200 employees servicing 200-plus contracts, DeSimone is particularly proud that, throughout, the company maintained operational continuity, kept the trust of clients and partners and positioned Nightwing for future success.

    Why Watch

In 2025, DeSimone said expect to see Nightwing’s independent investments in people and technology really start to bear fruit. Nightwing is heavily focused on integrating artificial intelligence across its technology architecture that can be customized for customers’ mission needs. DeSimone also sees AI and the smart application of data as force multipliers for offensive cyber and for defending against sophisticated threats putting customer networks at risk.

“With so many emerging technologies and processes Nightwing must embrace new concepts,” DeSimone said. “And it’s not always about adapting. As leaders in this field, it’s crucial for us to be out ahead of that change and driving it.”

Fun fact: While in college, DeSimone built scheduling software for a local doctor who knew he was interested in computers. That early project became one of the first medical practice management systems, which he later took to market — launching his career.
