Julian Setian
CEO, SOSi
In the past year, Julian Setian’s investment in expanding SOSi’s expertise in software development, network engineering and cybersecurity yielded tangible results, cementing the company’s position as a mission-critical driver of innovation.
The scale and technical complexity of the contracts SOSi is winning underscore its customers’ confidence in SOSi’s advanced capabilities. This achievement marks a significant milestone on the strategic path Setian charted several years ago, demonstrating SOSi’s consistent progress toward their long-term vision.
“While I founded SOSi 35 years ago, the company has undergone such a profound transformation that Julian’s impact is undeniable,” said Sosi Setian, founder of SOSi. “I consider him the true architect of the SOSi we know today. As a leader, Julian upholds the open-door tradition I established early on, ensuring every employee can access him and voice their perspectives. Emphasizing individual impact, Julian created an environment where every team member recognizes how they make a difference through personal contribution, which has fueled SOSi’s culture, success and growth.”
Why Watch
In 2025, SOSi will enhance its AI and software development capabilities to support a wider range of government missions. Its subsidiaries, Exovera and NorthStar Systems, plan to launch new software and SaaS products. The company is also expanding its Pacific presence with offices in Hawaii and Singapore, adding to its existing office in Bangkok.
“Resilience is the art of bending without breaking, the strength to weather life’s storms without losing your foundation,” Julian Setian said. “It is not about avoiding hardship but embracing it as a chance to grow stronger and wiser. In every moment of struggle lies the opportunity to rise and redefine what’s possible.”
Fun fact: When Setian was 13, he won a breakdancing competition at a club in East L.A. called the Radiotron. Much to his surprise, because of the win, he was cast in the 1983 movie “Breakin.” While the Radiotron was featured in the movie, Setian’s scene was left on the cutting room floor.
