QinetiQ Group has named Roger Krone as an independent non-executive director on its board.

He will also serve as senior U.S. independent non-executive director and join the Audit, Nominations, Remuneration, and Risk & Security committees.

Krone was chairman and CEO of Leidos Holdings Inc. from 2014 to 2023. He also held senior roles at Boeing and General Dynamics.

Krone is a director at Lear Corp. and president and CEO of the Boy Scouts of America.

Neil Johnson, group chair of QinetiQ, expressed confidence in Krone’s appointment, citing his “extensive and transformational leadership experience” as a valuable asset for QinetiQ’s growth, particularly in the U.S. market. He highlighted Krone’s track record at Leidos and his knowledge of the defense and security industry.
