The finalists for WashingtonExec’s 2024 Pinnacle Awards were announced Sept. 20, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person Nov. 21.
Next is Shab Nassirpour, vice president of marketing and communications at ECS, and finalist in the Marketing Executive of the Year, Public Company, category. Here, she talks about recent achievements, shares career advice and more.
What key achievements did you have in 2024?
In 2024, my team and I achieved significant milestones that I’m incredibly proud of. We published 38 technical articles and case studies, organized 36 conferences, and increased ECS’ website traffic by 37% year-over-year. Our marketing efforts played a key role in boosting brand visibility in the competitive government contracting sector. Receiving the ECS Leadership Award was particularly meaningful, as it recognized not only my work but also the dedication and collaboration of my team.
What are your primary focus areas going forward, and why are those so important to the mission?
Going forward, my focus will be on deepening employee engagement and continuing to foster a culture of innovation. We’re building on the success of initiatives like ECS Pitch Day and the ECS Innovation & Impact Challenge, which have been critical for inspiring new ideas and driving creativity across the company. It’s essential to our mission because these programs help retain top talent and ensure that ECS stays at the forefront of industry innovation.
What is your best career advice for those who want to follow in your footsteps?
My advice to anyone looking to follow a similar path is to foster a culture that prioritizes collaboration, innovation, and trust. It’s important to be adaptable, open to new ideas, and committed to developing your team. The success of any leader is built on the strength of the team around them, so invest in your people and always strive for excellence together.
