The finalists for WashingtonExec’s 2024 Pinnacle Awards were announced Sept. 20, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person Nov. 21.
Next is Julia Martin, government and public sector marketing leader at EY, and finalist in the Marketing Executive of the Year, Private Company, category. Here, she talks about recent achievements, shares career advice and more.
What key achievements did you have in 2024?
A significant achievement was the first anniversary of the EY Center for Government Modernization (CGM) in March 2024, our B2G think tank that curates groundbreaking reports, client case studies, insightful thought leadership and orchestrates impactful events. The meticulous planning, strategic thought and dedication that fueled the CGM’s inception is a testament to stakeholder collaboration across the business. This milestone was further underscored when we received the prestigious 2024 Innovation SABRE Awards North America for our CGM campaign, thanks to our incredible team of marketing and communication professionals.
Another achievement I am particularly proud of is just trying new things. We piloted new tactics that not only expanded brand reach for EY within the AI and technology-led transformation domain, but also showcased public sector innovation, telling the powerful stories of EY and government agencies working together to address complex issues.
What are your primary focus areas going forward, and why are those so important to the mission?
My primary focus is to continue amplifying the amazing narratives of government modernization and how EY is assisting federal, state and local agencies in overcoming intricate challenges, to innovate at scale, deliver at speed and keep people at the center. This is vital to our mission as it emphasizes our commitment to addressing critical needs and fostering progress. We have significant plans to enhance the EY Center for Government Modernization, including the inauguration of our cutting-edge client experience space in Washington, D.C., and I am particularly excited about our upcoming signature programs that will demonstrate EY’s breadth and depth of capabilities, as well as highlight the journeys of agency leaders and how they are fulfilling their strategic goals.
I’m dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what we’ve achieved so far. By capitalizing on what we’ve learned works best and leaving behind what doesn’t, I’m ready to inject fresh, exciting ideas into our playbook that will not only advance our business but also create lasting value for our clients.
