Jessica Maloney
General Manager of Civilian Division, Sev1Tech
In 2024, the federal civilian team at Sev1Tech achieved a key milestone by collaborating with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to modernize its enterprisewide services and IT infrastructure.
The team implemented advanced cybersecurity solutions, including zero trust architecture, TIC 3.0, cloud services, mobility and application development. By the project’s end, they will support CISA by managing mobile devices for over 6,000 users, implementing network control for more than 1,000 devices and providing enterprise service support using ITIL, agile and traditional project management to standardize IT processes.
They also supported CISA’s migration of the Emergency Communications Division’s Communications Assets Survey and Mapping Tool to a cloud managed by the Office of the Chief Information Officer. The migration finished ahead of schedule with minimal downtime, ensuring security and reliability for CASM, the primary tool for the nationwide emergency communications community.
Why Watch
The team is focused on supporting the federal civilian sector’s IT modernization, implementing upgrades and emerging technologies. Currently, it’s working with federal partners to advance edge cloud computing, zero trust architecture, AI/ML and DevSecOps.
As its portfolio grows, Sev1Tech aims to find more mission-driven opportunities to support additional federal civilian customers with cutting-edge network and enterprise services.
“It’s important to continue to help inspire, mentor and drive to have more women in IT leadership roles,” Maloney added. “It is a huge passion of mine.”
Sev1Tech Chief Operating Officer Joe Montoya said it was a privilege to witness Maloney’s journey from data center support specialist to executive leader. He noted that she embodies exceptional leadership, demonstrating strong communication, integrity, adaptability, resilience, empathy and decisiveness.
“Her leadership has driven exceptional growth in our civilian division this year, while fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork across her portfolio of programs and projects,” Montoya said. “She has established a strong sense of purpose across her leadership team and consistently provides her team with opportunities for growth, recognition and reward.”
Fun fact: Maloney has sung a cappella for over 20 years, most recently as a member of Capital Blend, an award-winning, nationally recognized upper voices group in the Washington, D.C., area.
