    Amy Howland, Guidehouse

    Amy Howland

    CISO, Guidehouse

Amy Howland’s biggest recent achievement was successfully transitioning into her current role at Guidehouse, and leveraging the achievements from her previous positions and lessons learned to work alongside this remarkable team.

Working with cyber teams for commercial and public sector organizations, Howland developed methodologies and processes to advance security operations, policy, governance, risk and compliance. She said she’s delighted to be part of Guidehouse and looks forward to contributing to shaping the future of cybersecurity in her organization.

“A seasoned CISO, Amy’s arrival marks a significant addition to our leadership team, and we are very excited to welcome her to Guidehouse,” said Chas Shaffer, CIO of Guidehouse. “It is critical that we protect our firm’s ability to support client missions around the world. Her extensive leadership in driving security and governance initiatives across the commercial and public sectors reinforces our commitment to preserving top-tier security, both in our operations and for the clients we serve.”

    Why Watch

In 2025, Howland and her team are focused on amplifying the firm’s cybersecurity strategy in alignment with current and upcoming regulatory requirements as well as working with business leaders to understand client needs and how those can be achieved securely. With a focus on people, the goal is to better the user experience while keeping the cybersecurity team informed so we can be compliant/secure.

“One of my all-time favorite quotes is by Coach John Wooden: ‘If you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?'” Howland said.

Fun fact: Howland won a sixth-grade county spelling bee, she was an ethical hacker, and she’s proud to be a founding member of CapitalCISO.
