Steve Dolski
CFO, SilverEdge
Steve Dolski leads a team that successfully drove financial strategies and integration efforts positioning SilverEdge as a premier provider of innovative and proprietary cybersecurity, software and intelligence solutions for the defense and intelligence community.
SilverEdge CEO Robert Miller said Dolski’s leadership brought transformative financial strategies that drive growth and efficiency, as he led the integration of six companies, streamlined operations and introduced innovative technological solutions that enhanced decision making.
“His operational focus as a CFO, acting similarly to a COO/CFO, has been instrumental in optimizing our workflows and achieving our strategic objectives,” Miller said. “His commitment to risk management and cost reduction, combined with his ability to inspire high-performing teams, has positioned us for long-term success. Steve’s vision and execution have been invaluable, and his focus on creating value for our stakeholders has truly set him apart as an outstanding CFO.”
Over the past year, Dolski led the implementation of SilverEdge’s integration playbook, establishing strong finance, accounting and contracts organizations, reducing operational costs and improving financial reporting accuracy, he said.
“Our team streamlined processes across all acquired entities, achieving a significant reduction in financial close time and an improvement in working capital management,” Dolski said. “These efforts not only solidified our market position but also enhanced our ability to deliver high-quality solutions, which in turn contributed to our growth and market presence. Through careful planning and execution, we have laid a solid foundation for continued growth in a highly competitive industry.”
Why Watch
In 2024, Dolski’s team is heavily focused on financial acumen driving automation and cross functional workflows to enhance analysis and better decision making as an organization. As SilverEdge continues to grow organically and through acquisition, it’s important to focus on financial predictability and align financial goals with business strategy to drive long-term value for customers, employees and stakeholders, he said. And, he added, managing key performance metrics is vital to driving significant positive change within the organization.
“One of my favorite quotes is by Albert Einstein: ‘Try not to become a man of success, but rather become a man of value,'” Dolski said. “This quote has been at the core of my career, driving my ethics, integrity and striving to have a positive impact on the customers and organizations I support.”
Fun fact: One of Dolski’s favorite things to do outside of being with family and friends is to play piano and guitar. “I try to play almost every day, even if it’s only for a few minutes,” he said.
