    David Mutryn, Maximus

    David Mutryn

    CFO, Maximus

David Mutryn became chief financial officer for Maximus in late 2021, and his leadership since has helped Maximus execute on financial and strategic priorities as the company sets new records for annual revenue.

Across Maximus, Mutryn’s leadership has been recognized by fellow executives, who credit his insight, judgment and technical acumen in guiding the company’s most important business decisions.

As Maximus CEO Bruce Caswell said: “David’s leadership as the CFO has been recognized internally by fellow executives. David’s thoughtful and collaborative leadership style has engendered trust and cohesiveness in our leadership team at a time of significant growth and transformation in our business. He has been a true partner in the evolution of Maximus and deserves all the accolades he receives.”

One of the top priorities across Maximus is the company’s work serving mission-critical national programs, and a perfect example is the resumption of Medicaid redeterminations. Mutryn previously said “flawless execution” for these programs was vital to success and that Maximus is “continuously optimizing our model and processes to support our longer-term strategy, while maintaining disciplined capital allocation.”

    Why Watch

Mutryn stands out as a CFO who embraces technology and drives innovation across the company and within the finance department. In particular, he is supporting and encouraging pilots of AI within programs to enhance efficiencies and increase shareholder value.

This use of AI and emerging technologies is emblematic of how the company as a whole is moving in that direction. Mutryn is implementing new technologies within his own accounting and finance department to enable his teams to work smarter, access data on demand and reduce financial reporting risks.

Mutryn is also the executive sponsor of the Maximus Forward initiative to evaluate, benchmark, and in some cases “clean sheet” the design, processes and resources that drive the company’s delivery. With a balanced approach to improving efficiency and investment in the future, the Maximus Forward initiative is central to keeping Maximus an employer of choice and creating greater opportunities.
