The finalists for WashingtonExec’s 2024 Pinnacle Awards were announced Sept. 20, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person Nov. 21.

Next is Wesley Daniels, partner at Clarity Innovations, and finalist in the Cloud Executive of the Year, Private Company, category. Here, he talks about recent achievements, shares career advice and more.

What key achievements did you have in 2024?

In 2024, we achieved some remarkable milestones that we’re incredibly proud of. The modernization of Cloud One stands out — streamlining operations, enhancing security, and boosting performance for our clients in ways that truly matter. We also scaled our services to meet the growing needs of our customers because we understand the time to protect national security is now! After our strategic partnership with Capitol Meridian Partners and the acquisition of Chameleon Consulting Group, we now stand 500 strong and even more equipped to continue delivering excellence, mission impact, and security, with the best people leading the way.

What are your primary focus areas going forward, and why are those so important to the mission?

Our primary focus moving forward is scaling our operations while being steadfast on our non-negotiables: delivering on our mission and caring for our people. For us, scaling isn’t just about growth — it’s about ensuring our technological solutions continue to support and secure our nation’s most critical national security outcomes. At the same time, we remain deeply committed to creating meaningful career growth opportunities for our team. We believe that when our people thrive, our mission is strengthened. It’s this balance of mission and care that drives everything we do.

What is your best career advice for those who want to follow in your footsteps?

I’d say, “If you’re the smartest person in the room, find a new room.” Surround yourself with people who challenge you, who push you to think differently, and who inspire you to be better. Growth happens when you’re uncomfortable, so seek out those opportunities to learn and evolve.

Fun Fact: What is something about you that most people do not know?

Most people don’t know that after partnering with private equity, my wife Darcie and I started a foundation that now distributes nearly 2 million Bibles a year. It’s a passion project for us, deeply rooted in our values, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to know we are making a difference in people’s lives beyond the business world.
