Pinnacle Award Finalist KC Wilberg: ‘Learn to Adapt’

    KC Wilberg, Acuity

The finalists for WashingtonExec’s 2024 Pinnacle Awards were announced Sept. 20, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person Nov. 21.

Next is KC Wilberg, vice president at Acuity, and finalist in the Intelligence Executive of the Year, Private Company, category. Here, he talks about recent achievements, shares career advice and more.

What key achievements did you have in 2024?

I’m proud that I have helped Acuity find success in the IC market, branching out from zero presence in the IC to securing business in three intel agencies, with 13 awards, for ~$110M in Acuity Potential Value, against $11.2B in total contract value.

What is your best career advice for those who want to follow in your footsteps?

Nothing goes as planned. Learn to adapt, think quickly on your feet, and take chances. Don’t be afraid to make the wrong decision; rather, be afraid of not making a decision in time to act.

Fun Fact: What is something about you that most people do not know about? (Hobbies, passions, etc.?)

I love to go scuba diving and hold advanced scuba diving, wreck penetration and nitrox certifications. While I love to look at fish under the water, I can’t stand seafood and won’t eat anything out of the water (no crustaceans, fish, shrimp, nothing). Suffice it to say, all manner of water creatures are safe with me.

Meet the other Pinnacle Awards finalists here.
