    Matt Maurer, ICF

    Matt Maurer

    Chief Marketing Officer, ICF

Matt Maurer feels fortunate to lead an exceptional team of marketing strategists, communicators, creatives, digital experts and more who collaborate closely with ICF’s business partners to deliver real impact. For his team, the measure of success goes beyond marketing metrics ⏤ it’s about the growth of ICF’s business and the impact the company makes.

ICF is growing faster than many of its peers, an accomplishment the entire team takes pride in. Marketing is contributing to that growth through key campaigns and strategies that help build the ICF brand across various industries. This is being achieved with a lean, agile team of passionate professionals deeply committed to their work and the difference it makes.

In 2023, ICF achieved strong double-digit growth, reaching nearly $2 billion in revenue with record contract awards, 70% of which represented new business. The company experienced its best second quarter ever and is seeing strong momentum in the second half, positioning it for another year of record-breaking performance.

ICF has won hundreds of corporate and industry recognitions, consistently earning spots on Forbes’ lists of America’s Best Management Consulting Firms and America’s Best Employers for Diversity and Women. Last year, the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce named ICF Government Contractor of the Year ($300M+), and the company received a Climate Leadership Award for Organizational Leadership.

“ICF is a high-growth, high-impact company that sets itself apart by doing well by doing good,” Maurer said. “Through our work and our corporate actions, we’re tackling some of the most difficult economic, social, and technological issues of our time. I take great pride in leading the team that creates and shares stories about our meaningful work, our corporate initiatives, and the incredible people that support them.”

    Why Watch

This year, Maurer’s team is focused on building marketing programs that bring ICF closer to its clients. It’s creating channels to have direct conversations, address client concerns and engage on important issues. The team is also ramping up efforts to highlight how tech-forward ICF is and what that means for clients. By combining industry expertise with technologies like cloud computing, AI/GenAI and data modernization, it helps clients achieve faster results. The team is also using AI/GenAI to enhance internal growth operations across business development, marketing and solution engineering.

“Matt is an innovative thinker and growth leader who is always searching for new and better ways to engage and connect with our customers, investors, and employees,” said Sergio Ostria, ICF executive vice president of growth and innovation. “He’s built a dynamic team of professionals from the ground up who are helping drive significant growth and sales across the business by ensuring our brand remains strong in the market and our marketing efforts align our work with our purpose—to build a more prosperous and resilient world for all—and resonate with our audiences.”

Fun fact: In college, Maurer worked as a waiter in a Michelin star restaurant in Dublin, Ireland. He learned a lot about people in that job. “I also got a chance to sing on stage with the Goo Goo Dolls ⏤ briefly, and before they got big ⏤ which was a lot of fun,” he said.
