    Megan Hanik, Groundswell

    Megan Hanik

    Chief People Officer, Groundswell

Megan Hanik successfully led the integration of three distinct small federal government tech companies into a unified Groundswell entity and value proposition. She prioritized automation and optimization from the start, implementing innovative programs, policies and engagement drivers that resulted in higher employee retention (against industry benchmarks) and increased productivity throughout the organizational transition.

This achievement earned Groundswell the 2024 Gold Merit Award for HR Technology Implementation and Megan the 2023 Woman in Technology Leadership Award for Mid-Market Businesses.

“Under Megan’s leadership, her team has accomplished more in the last 24 months than I have seen teams twice the size accomplish in five years!” said George Batsakis, CEO of Groundswell.

    Why Watch

As a consultant at heart, Hanik anticipates future business needs and direction. She established the foundation for Groundswell’s sustained growth over the next several years. By implementing technology at scale, Hanik ensures Groundswell continues to deliver exceptional value to its employees while allowing them to directly experience the same technology that is implemented for customers.

“It’s not about how many times you fall or even the fall itself. It’s about how you pick yourself back up (and adjust your crown),” she said. “Resilience is my superpower!”

Fun fact: Before leading HR at Groundswell, Hanik spent 15 years as a human capital consultant, focusing on customer missions. This experience now shapes her approach to internal HR, where she prioritizes the unique needs of Groundswell’s employees and how technology can elevate their experience.
