    Denise Bailey

Chief Administrative Officer, Koniag Government Services

Koniag Government Services recently revamped its hiring process, enhancing the collaboration between recruiters and hiring managers, which reduced the average days-to-fill by five days and saved $700,000 in agency placement fees. Additionally, Denise Bailey takes pride in implementing a student loan payment plan, which received highly positive feedback from employees. Under the plan, KGS reimburses up to $5,000 annually based on payment receipts, with 74 employees participating in the first year and a total reimbursement of $260,000.

    Why Watch

Bailey’s current focus is the transition to a new HCM system designed to handle the complexities of a multi-entity, fast-growing organization. The new system will be live April 2025. Her team is also heavily focused on continually refining its hiring processes and maintaining a rewarding work environment. The team is also dedicated to improving its internal HR system, making it more interactive and user-friendly to streamline processes and better serve the growing employee population.

“Denise has been instrumental in developing the HR platform that sustains KGS’ aggressive growth and ensuring that our people are at the heart of everything we do,” said Kevin Wideman, KGS CEO. “Her leadership in overhauling our hiring process and revamping our HR system has made a tremendous impact on our organization’s efficiency and culture.”

Fun fact: Bailey lives on a farm with her husband. They care for a donkey, three goats and about 40 head of cattle. On weekends, she often spends time with her three grandsons who live nearby. They enjoy spending time outdoors, fishing and having Sunday family dinners.
