    Tom Painter

Chief Human Capital Officer, System High Corp.

This has been a year of tremendous growth for System High, according to Tom Painter. Since the beginning of 2024, System High increased its workforce by over 50%, and continued growth is anticipated throughout the organization.

Efforts to hire, onboard and integrate hundreds of new employees into the Burn Blue company culture required significant coordination across the support and operations teams. Synchronizing efforts across teams such as Security, Information Technology, Contracts and Finance was critical. The operations leadership excelled in integrating new team members to meet customers’ requirements.

Painter’s motto for this year is, “You need to prioritize the importance of making a positive and indelible impression on people while the cement is still wet.” Encouraging feedback has been received from new employees on these efforts.

    Why Watch

“System High’s Human Capital team, under Tom’s leadership, continues to exceed my high expectations,” said System High President and CEO Rob Howe. “Our people and their families deserve the best, and our Human Capital team strives each day to serve them. It is no surprise that because of the team’s dedication, hard work and commitment to support all our nearly 700 employees, System High once again has been recognized as a Top Workplace by The Washington Post in 2024.”

To Painter, gratitude is a key ingredient to a well-lived life. As someone who experienced the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001, only blocks away from the World Trade Center Buildings, he said he lives with a constant reminder of the importance of gratitude, both personally and professionally.
