Jeannette Morris
CFO, Koniag Government Services
Jeannette Morris’ main achievement in 2024 will be leading the transition from KGS’ outdated financial system to a new, scalable platform that supports the company’s rapid growth.
Her team is focused on upgrading from a system designed for smaller companies to one that can accommodate the complex needs of a nearly $1 billion corporation. Completing this project by the end of the year will be a significant milestone for KGS’ financial operations.
“In her six-year tenure, Jeannette has overseen all financial aspects of KGS, driving our growth from approximately $100 million in revenue, 10 business entities, 300 employees and five accounting staff in 2018 to $750 million in revenue, 29 business entities, 2,560 employees and 30 accounting personnel (and growing) in 2024,” said Kevin Wideman, KGS CEO. “Her leadership and expertise have been invaluable to our organization, ensuring our financial stability and supporting our exponential growth.”
Why Watch
Morris’ team is focused on increasing efficiency and streamlining processes within KGS’ financial division. In addition to implementing a new financial management system, the team developed a bot to automate the labor-intensive task of reconciling over 20 bank statements. This initiative, inspired by a staff suggestion, eliminated hours of tedious work and allows the team to focus on more strategic tasks that enhance KGS’ financial health.
“I love Oscar Wilde’s quote, ‘Be yourself; everyone else is already taken,'” she said.
Fun fact: A lifelong animal lover, Morris has three horses and enjoys assisting the local animal shelter. She volunteers on weekends for rescue and adoption activities and conducts virtual home checks to ensure adopted animals receive proper care in a safe environment.
