AMERICAN SYSTEMS has appointed David Dacquino to its board of directors as an independent member to chair the Human Resources Committee.

Dacquino occupies L. Kenneth Johnson’s vacant seat on the board. Johnson served in his position for 18 years. He joins AMERICAN SYSTEMS President and CEO John Steckel, AMERICAN SYSTEMS Vice President of Human Resources Chris Braccio and independent directors Peter Smith and Barry Broadus.

“Dave’s extensive experience and proven leadership in the aerospace and defense industry make him an excellent addition of our Board,” Steckel said. “We are confident that his expertise will greatly contribute to our sustained profitable growth.”

Dacquino brings over 40 years of aerospace and defense leadership to the role. He most recently served as chairman and CEO of Serco Inc., where he grew business with the U.S. military and intelligence agencies. He also held leadership positions with VT Group, Raytheon Missile Systems and Lockheed Martin.

As a board member, Dacquino will provide leadership to the Human Resources Committee.

“AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ reputation as a top veteran-friendly, 100% employee-owned government contractor of choice appealed to me, and I am honored to join the Board of AMERICAN SYSTEMS as they prepare to celebrate 50 years in 2025,” Dacquino said. “I am looking forward to working alongside such a dynamic team, and I believe we will achieve many great things together.”
