James Johnson
Vice President & Huntsville Site Executive, CACI
Growing CACI’s Huntsville presence from the ground up has been a formidable journey, one James Johnson readily embraced.
In January 2022, Johnson became vice president and Huntsville site executive for CACI and he has since worked hard to establish the company’s reputation among local government and industry partners.
His persistent efforts to strengthen customer relationships with the Aviation and Missile Center, Missile Defense Agency, Army Space and Missile Defense Command, and PEO Aviation have resulted in a widespread interest in the nature of the work CACI does in Huntsville and beyond.
“As a team, we have built and fostered purposeful relationships with key government customers in a short period of time,” he said. “The progress we have made has proven two things to be imperative for success: strong, distinct capabilities that set us apart in the industry and an exceptional team. I am incredibly proud of the work we have been doing and the exposure we’ve given CACI in Huntsville.”
Recently, CACI won several contracts that impact local government agencies, including a $2 billion task order with NASA to provide modern digital solutions and a $55 million contract for research and analysis support to the Army Futures Command at Redstone Arsenal.
Why Watch
In 2024, Johnson’s team is focused on identifying and demonstrating its principal lines of effort. CACI’s Huntsville team is currently executing contracts that showcase its qualifications in space and missile defense, Army aviation, mission software and modeling simulation. While looking to optimize performance in these areas, the team is also seeking opportunities to prime contracts that highlight its less prominent areas of expertise, including Army space initiatives and unmanned aerial systems.
“James has exemplified unparalleled dedication and strategic foresight in propelling CACI’s Huntsville presence to new heights,” said CACI Senior Vice President of Engineering Support and Solutions JD Hammond. “Under his guidance, we continue to innovate and expand by delivering mission capability into space and missile defense domains.”
